Does AI spell the end for human tech creators?

I’m in a WhatsApp group full of fellow Tech YouTubers. It acts as both a brilliant support network and a place to have a right ol’ laugh. They’re an awesome bunch, and this job would be an awful lot harder - and more lonely - if we didn’t have each other to lean on.

We’re all fully aware that we have one of the best jobs in the world and that many of the people who digest our ramblings on YouTube and countless other platforms would love to be in our shoes. But we’re also concerned about where this industry is headed. The sheer weight of competition, tightening brand marketing budgets, and the meteoric rise of AI-based content is rather trouser-filling if you think about it for too long.

For me, it’s indeed scary, but also an opportunity. Everything that happens in business is an opportunity - even the crap stuff. There hasn’t been a single crap event in my working life that hasn’t ultimately resulted in something better - even if you have to wait years to eventually bump into it.

This week, we’ve been filling that WhatsApp group with varying opinions on how quickly AI could wipe us all out, whether it will actually wipe us all out at all, and if everyone actually just needs to calm the f*ck down. It was such a boisterous discussion that I had to pick up my camera halfway through and shoot this week’s Tech Diary video to talk about it in front of you lot.

M5 IPAD PRO VS TAB S11 ULTRA

Android tablets have always been worse than iPads. I know that’s a bold statement, and I know I’m an Apple fanboy. But it’s true. Or at least it was until I tried the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra a few weeks ago, which left me thinking, could I actually ditch my iPad for one of these full-time? That’s what this video gets to the bottom of!
