I was just being honest...
THIS WEEKāS UPDATE
iPhone Air Owners Are Furious With Me ā Hereās Why
Earlier this week, I published a video which revealed why Iāve switched from the iPhone Air to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. I teeād it up with an intro that suggested Iād probably get āroastedā in the comments section for that decision - and, indeed, for the decision to make the video itself.
That happened, obviously. However, there were plenty of lovely comments, too (more than the negative stuff, which is always the case, to be fair). You see, most people who watch my videos, I think, āgetā this. Iām a content creator and run a business that survives and thrives by attracting attention. I publish videos for that reason (a concept that some Internet People seem to be biblically furious about, even though they continue to watch and comment on them, thus furthering their reach).
YouTube videos need narratives to be successful. They also need to follow the rinse-and-repeat method if you want to build a loyal audience that keeps coming back for more. And guess what - the platform rewards you if you do all of that stuff. Thatās why this week, I returned to the topic of the iPhone Air, which has already proved itself to be something of an audience-attracting monster. It just so happened that my own narrative for that phone has taken a rather unfortunate turn.
In the latest Tech Diary video, I react to some of the comments I received about that video. It was fun. And you should go and watch it, because Iām hungry for the clikz, viewz, and helicopter fuel, of course.

I Gave Up On The iPhone Air ā Hereās Why
No, this is not one of those āI switchedā videos. Well, ok maybe it is a bit, but itās a totally honest one. I genuinely envisioned a few months ago that Iād be using the iPhone Air as my main phone for the next 12 months, but things havenāt gone to planā¦
Finally trying the X Ultra EXOSKELETON from Hypershell!
This might be the most futuristic bit of tech Iāve ever reviewed on the channel, and it isnāt some Kickstarter gimmick. The Hypershell X Ultra actually works and it has potential to be revolutionary for lots of different reasons. See what all the fuss is about!

TIP OF THE WEEK
iOS 26.1: Dial in your podcast audio š
For years, third-party podcast apps have had much better playback options. Now, the built-in Podcasts app offers similar tools. Tap the playback menu and switch on Enhance Dialogue to make speech easier to hear. You can also slide through the speed controls to fine-tune how fast or slow each episode plays.

What I Watched On YouTube This Week
āļø Tom Cruise Receives an Honorary Oscar Award | The 16th Governors Awards Presented By @ROLEX (Oscars) - I wish I could get away with YouTube titles like that. Regardless, Iām a bit of a Tom Cruise fanboi, and I enjoyed what he had to say about cinema in a not-so-thinly-veiled attack on the awful side of AI and what it could do to creativity.
š The Golf GTI Clubsport Feels Like a Goodbye (The Next Drive) - Shameless plug alert. Although I enjoyed making this one, and think you might like watching it!
š„ Phil Collins Gets Quizzed On His OWN Music | The Jonathan Ross Show (The Jonathan Ross Show) - Iām really into watching bite-sized interview content at the moment. Although John Thomson playing drums for Phil Collins wasnāt on my bingo card.
Thanks for reading this weekās newsletter. I hope you have a great weekend and are primed for some tasty Black Friday deals next week!
